More and more restaurants, juice bars and popular food chains are catching onto this trend, but eating out every day to get your “bowl” fix can get pricey. If you’re tired of brown bagging the same old sandwich, check out these 4 healthy and easy power bowl recipes, filled with just the right balance of grains, veggies and protein

Upgrade your lunch: 4 healthy power bowl recipes

With a protein-packed base of lentils and quinoa, this bowl can be topped with anything you want — take our Pret-inspired suggestions or choose your favorite vegetables, nuts, meats, and cheese to make the power bowl of your dreams!



Grain mix base:
1/4 cup white quinoa
1/4 cup red quinoa
1/4 cup green lentils
1/4 cup black lentils
2 cups water
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt

Vinaigrette base:
1/4 cup of your favorite vinegar, lime juice or lemon juice
1 1/2 tablespoons minced onion, garlic, scallion or shallot
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup olive oil


Make the grain base: Rinse the quinoa and lentils in a fine mesh strainer, then pour into a medium saucepan with 2 cups water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
