Gina Ragnone, known for her popular wellness blog, Granola Bitch (a term inspired by her ex-boyfriend), has created quite the following. Posting her delicious healthy recipes on Instagram and even coming out with her own line of Granola, she shares one of her very favorite smoothie recipes.

Granola Bitch Goes Green

[W]hile granola is at the heart of her brand, gorgeous green smoothies are a mainstay of Ragnone’s blog. Here, the Granola Bitch shares one of her favorites—an alkalizing, nutrient-dense smoothie she promises will “set the tone for your day and help keep illness at bay.” —Jamie McKillop

The Green Gigi

1 handful spinach
1 ripe pear, chopped
1 ripe avocado
1/2 cucumber, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 Tbsp fresh parsley
1 Tbsp fresh cilantro
1 thumbnail-sized chunk peeled ginger root
1 handful ice
Juice of 1/2 of one lemon
Splash of aloe vera juice
Pinch of cayenne pepper
Himalayan sea salt to taste
Liquid stevia to taste
Enough filtered water or coconut water to make it blend

Place all ingredients, minus the avocado and ice, into a high-powered blender and blend until smooth. Add in the avocado and ice and blend until smooth. Pour into your favorite mason jar and enjoy!
